Post race quote
"After Mark retired from the race, I had no benchmark to base my performance on, so I was just pushing hard trying to keep the gap level with Taku (Sato), because I could see him ahead of me in the first stint. I was happy with the performance of the car and the tyres, and it was really fun to ride behind Taku and Olivier (Panis). I just pushed a bit too hard around the Pouhon corner, though, lost grip at the back when I went over a kerb, and spun into the gravel. Its a shame, because it was a really enjoyable race up to that point. I wish I was still out there!."

Post race quote
"It was definitely a lot harder than it looks on the television, and the first stint of the race went by so fast, I couldn't believe it! It took a bit of time to get into a rhythm, but once I did, I was able to push harder and harder, until I found the limit. This weekend was always going to be a learning experience for me, and I'm pleased with my performance today, but disappointed not to have finished the race. It was my mistake, as I got onto a slightly dusty part of the track while trying to allow overtaking room, and the back end of the car just snapped away. On the positive side, the pit stops were fun, and I now understand what it feels like to be in a Formula One race. I'm really looking forward to Spa, where the cars should be just awesome"
